Happy Slap
By working closely with young people, the Be Safe team are ideally placed to identify new trends.
If we are to believe the Media, Happy Slap was a relatively new problem when highlighted by the Prime Minister speaking on National television of his shock at what was going on.
At the time of that TV interview, Be Safe had been running a Happy Slap preventative workshop in schools for over a year!
This workshop looks at the basis for happy slap behaviour, the supposedly harmless motivation behind it and the way in which Happy Slap attacks have increased in their ferocity and frequency.
The workshop looks at how easy it is for people involved in group / gang behaviour to do things that they would never do on their own.
This workshop is ideal as a preventative measure to take into schools and other youth groups and encourages young people to talk about issues that arise and form their own opinions based on the topics discussed.
